Celebrating the Completion of Purposeful Architect

I launched the Purposeful Architect blog in 2020 to show Salesforce administrators and developers how to build successful solutions by identifying and understanding an organization’s needs. After four years, I’m proud to say Purposeful Architect has covered its scope.

Purposeful Architect published 130 articles offering insights about:

  • Determining the purpose, scope, and coverage of a solution's requirements

  • Motivating business analysts

  • Managing stakeholders and requirements discovery

  • Providing business analysis knowledge for Salesforce experts

  • Integrating generative artificial intelligence into business analysis

SalesforceBen recognized Purposeful Architect’s value by including it in its Top 20 Salesforce Blogs for three consecutive years.

In 2022, I intended to pivot Purposeful Architect’s content toward Salesforce solution architecture but found the Salesforce Architect team provided outstanding resources to their community.

Generative AI took the world by storm in 2023. Most of Purposeful Architect’s articles covered generative AI’s impact on business analysis. At the same time, I recognized how artificial intelligence revolutionized my research and idea generation. I foresee training AI models becoming more pervasive than software development. Salesforce, Google, and others will move AI training from wizardry to experts like business analysts and architects.  I look forward to riding that wave in 2024, training AI models with knowledge graphs.

As Purposeful Architect draws to a close, I want to thank the community that has supported my efforts to improve the early stages of Salesforce solution development. I especially want to thank Ian Gotts, Vanessa Grant, Janeen Marquardt, Stuart Edeal and Edgar Santos.

I especially want to thank my long-time business associate, Gina Danford, who made my articles more readable with her editing talent.

I intend to keep Purposeful Architect available for the foreseeable future.
